"The Best Little Coffee Shop in America!"
Coffee Break With Carlos Michael was launched in February 2019. The original goal of Coffee Break was to post short positive video messages on Facebook via Carlos' iPhone as a means to cope with the passing of his mother (2018). It was also in response to the negativity being posted or reported on the news and on the various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc).
This eventually gave rise to the establishment of a virtual coffee shop which Carlos calls, "The best little coffee shop in America!" and the Coffee Break Channel.
The mission of Carlos Michael Communications Media is to motivate, educate, empower, and entertain with a series of video blogs, podcasts, or blogs that focus on planting seeds that build faith, encourage friendships, and develop goodwill and service toward our neighbors.
Fr. Michael Schmitz, a priest of the Diocese of Duluth, Minnesota as well as Director of Youth Ministries and chaplain of Newman Catholic Campus Ministries at the University of Minnesota Duluth said in a February 2020 speech at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary ... "You don't have to wait for permission to do good", and, "If you see a need, you fill it."
Fred Rogers (1928-2003), host of Mister Roger's Neighborhood (1968-2001) said, "We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It is easy to say, 'It's not my child, not my responsibility, not my community, not my world, not my problem.' Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes."
Our goal is to cultivate a culture of neighborhood heroes who aren't waiting for permission to do good. They see a need among their neighbors and they fill it, (-- Fr. Mike Schmitz, 2020).
